Not every engineering college in Tamil Nadu provides aeronautical engineering. A student has to be extremely careful while choosing B.Tech in aeronautical engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai

IIT Madras was established in 1959 and was recognized as the third institute under the ‘Institutes of Technology Act’ (1961). The institute provides B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs in Aerospace engineering.

The course fee for Aerospace engineering is around Rs 75,000 annually. The students have to clear the JEE mains to qualify for IIT Madras. 22 companies made 123 placement offers to the students in 2020. In 2019, 126 pre-placement offers and 890 students were offered different placements. Various MNCs like Texas Instruments, ISRO, Uber, Microsoft, and Qualcomm visit the college annually.

Anna University, Chennai

Anna University was established in 1978 and has been recognized beneath the ‘University with Potential for Excellence. The institute provides B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in Aerospace engineering. The aerospace department is known as the Madras Institute of Technology. Our former president, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was a notable alumnus of this institute.

The course fee for Aerospace engineering is around Rs 55,000 annually. The students are selected through TNEA scores for the engineering courses. The Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology was established in 1987 and was formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College. The university provides B.Tech/BE, M.Tech/ME, and Ph.D. in Aeronautical engineering.
